The Rock of Salvation
This artwork connects profoundly with Psalm 62, encapsulating the essence of seeking refuge in God's strength. The figure standing with arms open symbolizes surrender to the Divine, a visual echo of verse 2, "He only is my rock and salvation." The rugged terrain and crashing waves represent the trials in life, while the serene waterfall in the background illustrates the tranquility and salvation that come from unwavering faith in God.

As an artist, I created this piece to reflect the soul's journey of trust and patience, drawing from personal moments of seeking strength in faith. The thorns in the foreground represent the lies and struggles of human life, resonating with verses 3-4, where enemies aim to bring down the faithful. Despite these challenges, the figure stands unmoved, symbolizing the steadfastness found in God. This work conveys a message of inner peace, the salvation that comes from trusting not in worldly riches but in the refuge of the Divine, as echoed in verses 10-11.
The layers in this painting, from the turbulent sea to the calm horizon, are a reflection of life's adversities and the promise of God’s mercy and protection. As the figure stands illuminated by the light of a new day, it signifies hope, a visual representation of how Psalm 62 speaks of salvation, defense, and the unshakable refuge found in God alone.
