Symbols of Valor: A Nation’s Pride

$13,999.00 $13,999.00

In this piece, I wanted to bring together the most powerful symbols of the United States Marine Corps and the nation it protects. The  Eagle, Globe, and Anchor sits at the heart of the composition, representing the honor, courage, and commitment that every Marine carries. It’s a symbol that binds Marines across generations, a reminder of their global reach and steadfast loyalty.

The  American bald eagle , soaring proudly with the  American flag , signifies the freedom and strength that the Marine Corps is sworn to defend. Behind this majestic bird is a  poster of the U.S. president , representing the leadership and unity under which the Marines operate. The iconic  U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial is a focal point, depicting the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima—a testament to sacrifice, courage, and the enduring spirit of the Marines.

In the foreground,  Staff Sgt. Jorge Menes , standing in a salute, embodies the discipline, respect, and honor that defines the Marine Corps. The act of saluting is a gesture of respect—not just to authority, but to the values that make up the fabric of the Marine Corps.

Blue tones : Represent  loyalty, perseverance, and vigilance . The blue in the background signifies the steadfast nature of the Marines and their commitment to protecting the nation’s freedoms.  Red and white in the flag : Symbolize  valor and sacrifice (red) and  purity and peace (white). These colors evoke the deep emotional connection to the Marines’ mission of service and protection.  Golden hues in the EGA : Represent  excellence, tradition, and honor . Gold is often associated with timeless values and achievements, and here, it stands as a reminder of the Marine Corps’ long-standing legacy.

This artwork is a  tribute to the symbols that define the Marine Corps —each one tells a story of service, sacrifice, and strength. The  EGA , central to the composition, connects the Marines to their core values, while the  American bald eagle and  flag remind us of the freedoms they fight to protect. The  War Memorial is a solemn reminder of the price of victory, and the  salute of Staff Sgt. Jorge Menes reflects the honor and discipline that underpin everything the Marine Corps stands for.

This piece is about  balance —between leadership and the individual, between tradition and modern service, and between the sacrifices of the past and the dedication of the present. The colors evoke a sense of pride and solemnity, while the composition ties together the enduring symbols of strength and service that make the Marine Corps a source of national pride.
