Echoes of Paris, Whispers of LA: The Journey of the Olympics

In this artistic transition, Anthony Kiedis’s performance with the "LA28" backdrop serves as a bold announcement of the Games’ next destination. 

Interwoven into the narrative are French cultural icons—Zaho de Sagazan and opera star Benjamin Bernheim—whose performances tie the present moment to the rich history of Paris. Meanwhile, Léon Marchand holding the Olympic torch symbolizes the passing of the flame, a beacon of continuity and hope from Paris to LA. The suspended performance by Alain Roche, with the Divertimento Symphony Orchestra playing the French national anthem, is a surreal blend of classical and contemporary, reflecting the timelessness of the Olympic spirit. 

The color palette chosen for this artwork carries deep significance. The soft pinks and blues represent the dawn of a new era as we transition from Paris to LA, evoking emotions of nostalgia and anticipation. The warm golden tones are reminiscent of sunsets on the Paris skyline, while the vibrant reds and oranges hint at the energy and warmth of Los Angeles. The interplay of these colors creates a dreamlike atmosphere, reflecting both the celebratory mood of the closing ceremony and the excitement for what’s to come in 2028.
