Every element in this piece reflects Kendricks' journey—a narrative defined by *resilience*, *discipline*, and the *pursuit of excellence*. From his early days in Mississippi, where he first discovered his passion for pole vaulting, to his academic pursuits at the University of Mississippi, Kendricks' story embodies the spirit of overcoming obstacles and continuously striving to reach new heights.

At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Sam Kendricks secured the silver medal in the Men's Pole Vault, representing the United States. In this fiercely competitive event, he cleared 5.95 meters (19 feet, 6 1/4 inches) on his first attempt at that height, edging out Greece's Emmanouil Karalis, who cleared 5.90 meters for bronze. Despite cutting his hand on his first attempt in the finals, Kendricks confidently cleared 5.50 meters. Renowned for his consistency, Kendricks added this silver medal to his previous Olympic success, having won bronze in Tokyo 2020. His journey in Paris showcased his *resilience*, competing against the world's best vaulters. Kendricks' *mental acuity* and ability to deliver under pressure were pivotal to his success on the Olympic stage.

His achievements on the global platform, including a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and now a silver in Paris, testify to his unwavering *determination*. The image of Kendricks holding his silver medal with pride encapsulates the emotions of this journey—one filled with challenges, victories, and the relentless drive to excel. A three-time indoor and six-time outdoor national champion (2014–2019), Kendricks is also the 2016 Olympic bronze and 2024 Olympic silver medalist, and a two-time World Champion (2017 and 2019). In 2019, he set the American pole vault record at 6.06 meters, tying with Steve Hooker for fourth all-time. He later claimed the gold medal at the World Championships in Doha.

In creating this piece, I aimed to honor not just the medal, but the entirety of Sam Kendricks' Olympic journey. The use of color highlights the emotions of *triumph* and the *calm composure* that athletes like Kendricks must maintain, even amidst fierce competition. This artwork celebrates the spirit of the Olympics and the extraordinary achievements of an athlete who continues to inspire with every vault.
