United Rhythm of Victory

$10,999.00 $10,999.00

As I created **"United Rhythm of Victory,"** my thoughts centered on the harmony and unity these athletes embody. The image of the rowing team, with each member perfectly in sync, is a powerful metaphor for collaboration and shared goals. The bright, ethereal colors represent the clarity and purity of their purpose—pushing beyond individual limits for collective achievement.

This team, a tapestry of diverse backgrounds and stories, came together to share a common dream. Their journey has been marked by rigorous training, sacrifices, and the constant challenge of balancing their athletic careers with personal lives and studies. Each athlete has faced unique obstacles—be it injuries, personal struggles, or the pressure of representing their country on the world stage.

**Henry Hollingsworth** (born September 5, 1997, Dover, Massachusetts, U.S.) made his international debut for the United States at the 2022 World Rowing Championships, competing in the men's coxless four. He represented the United States again at the 2023 World Rowing Championships, finishing in sixth place in the men's eight.

**Nicholas "Nick" Rusher** (born June 10, 1999, West Bend, Wisconsin, U.S.) debuted internationally at the 2022 World Rowing Championships, finishing fourth in the men's eight.

**Christian Tabash** (born May 14, 1999, Alexandria, Virginia, U.S.) won silver in the eight at the 2017 World Rowing Junior Championships and bronze in the four with coxswain at the 2021 World Rowing U23 Championships. While taking graduate courses at the University of California, Berkeley, Tabash was a member of the university's rowing team. He won the eight at the 2024 World Rowing Final Olympic & Paralympic Qualification Regatta in Lucerne.

**Clark Dean** (born February 3, 2000, Sarasota, Florida, U.S.) is an Olympian and twice world champion at the junior level at the World Rowing Junior Championships.

**Christopher Carlson** (born March 14, 1997, Bedford, New Hampshire, U.S.) made his international debut at the 2022 World Rowing Championships, finishing fourth in the men's eight. He represented the United States again at the 2023 World Rowing Championships, finishing sixth in the men's eight.

**Peter Chatain** (born November 8, 1999, Winnetka, Illinois, U.S.) competed in the United States men's eight at the 2023 World Rowing Championships.

**Evan Olson** (born July 26, 1997, Seattle, Washington, U.S.) debuted internationally at the 2023 World Rowing Championships, finishing fifth in the coxless pair.

**Pieter Quinton** (born February 11, 1998, Chicago, IL, U.S.) competed as part of the United States men's eight boat at the 2022 and 2023 World Rowing Championships.

**Rielly Milne** (born May 31, 1996, Woodinville, Washington, U.S.) represented the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics, serving as the coxswain and winning a bronze medal in the men's eight.

The team, comprising Chris Carlson, Peter Chatain, Clark Dean, Henry Hollingsworth, Evan Olson, Pieter Quinton, Nick Rusher, and Christian Tabash, finished with a time of 5:25.28. Great Britain took gold with a time of 5:22.88.

The overlay of the Paris 2024 logo serves as a reminder of the grandeur and global nature of the Olympic Games, where athletes are more than just competitors; they are ambassadors of hope, perseverance, and unity. The light and airy tones reflect the optimism and excitement that the Games bring, not just to the athletes but to all who watch them.

The juxtaposition of the celebratory medal moment with the action shot of them rowing captures the full spectrum of their experience—intense effort and the joy of accomplishment. It speaks to the emotions they felt as they received their medals, a culmination of years of dedication and teamwork.

Through this piece, I wanted to honor their resilience and highlight the spirit of sportsmanship that transcends borders. The soft focus and gentle hues also suggest the peaceful and reflective moments that come after intense competition—a time to cherish the journey and look forward to the future.

Each athlete's story is a thread in the larger narrative of the Olympics, where every stroke, every challenge, and every victory contributes to a tapestry of human endeavor and inspiration.
