$10,999.00 $10,999.00

In this ethereal dreamscape, children frolic on the shores of a surreal world, their laughter echoing beneath a violet sky and twin moons. The tree of life stands at the edge of the reflective waters, symbolizing growth, beauty, and the fleeting nature of innocence. The children represent the joy and freedom of youth, dancing in their exuberance, while an older figure sits at the shoreline, contemplating the passage of time.

Ecclesiastes 11:9 advises,  "Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment." The vivid joy of the children playing speaks to the heart's natural desire for happiness and adventure. In life, we are encouraged to enjoy our youth, to pursue our dreams, and to walk the path of our desires. The purple moons in the artwork reflect a fantastical world, one filled with the wonder and boundless energy that defines childhood.

However, the looming celestial bodies remind us of the second half of the verse:  "...for all these things God will bring thee into judgment." The beauty and freedom of youth are not without consequence, for there comes a time when we must face the reality of our choices. The reflection of the children in the water hints at this duality, showing that the days of joy will ultimately pass, and one must stand accountable for the actions taken in that fleeting time.

Ecclesiastes 11:10 further teaches,  "Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity." The message here resonates in the gentle blending of the children’s playfulness and the somber mood of the older figure. The joy of youth is real and precious, but it is also transient. The image of the tree, sturdy yet bending, symbolizes this delicate balance—growth that is inevitable, and the wisdom that must follow. The fleeting nature of youth, the "vanity" referred to in the scripture, is a reminder to cherish the moment but also to strive for a life of purpose and integrity.

In life, these verses remind us to embrace our youthful enthusiasm but with an awareness that our actions are not without significance. It encourages us to pursue joy and follow our hearts but warns of the importance of removing sorrow and evil from our lives. The image captures the beauty of innocence and the weight of responsibility that eventually comes with growing older, blending both in a seamless, reflective world where time flows gently, and joy must be tempered with wisdom.

This art, along with the wisdom of the scripture, helps remind viewers in today’s fast-paced world to enjoy life’s moments, be carefree at times, but never forget the lasting impact of one’s choices.
