Disassembled Realities

$10,999.00 $10,999.00

I created this image to encapsulate the intense emotions and complex realities surrounding gun control in America today. The AR-15 rifle, so often at the center of national tragedies, is not just a weapon here—it’s a symbol of our nation's deeply fractured identity. The H-167 USMC marking hints at the military roots of this firearm, drawing a line from the battlefield to the streets of American cities. It’s a reminder of how weapons designed for war have seeped into everyday life, altering the very fabric of society.

When I chose to depict Joe Biden holding a disassembled gun, it wasn’t just to show a political figure with a firearm. Biden’s expression—thoughtful, almost heavy with the burden of leadership—represents the immense responsibility that comes with power. He’s not simply holding a gun; he’s holding the pieces of a country that is struggling to come together, to find common ground in the face of endless debates and deep-seated fears.

The Magpul MOE components are scattered across the image, much like the scattered thoughts and opinions of millions of Americans. These parts, known for their ability to be customized, symbolize the idea that our laws, our regulations, and even our society can be shaped and molded. But just like these gun parts, it takes intention, precision, and care to piece together something that works—a fully functional and safe society.

The fiery background colors—orange, red, and brown—were chosen deliberately. They evoke a sense of urgency, of something burning, something that cannot be ignored. These colors speak to the heated nature of the gun control debate, the anger, the fear, but also the passion and the drive for change. They’re the colors of both destruction and creation, reminding us that from the ashes of conflict, something new can rise.

This image isn’t just about guns or politics; it’s about the personalities behind the issues, the stories that fuel the debate. Biden, as a leader, is caught between the old and the new, between tradition and progress. His story is one of perseverance, of trying to piece together a divided nation. And that’s what this artwork is—an attempt to capture the disassembled realities of our time, to show the pieces that need to come together for us to move forward.

In creating this piece, I wanted to evoke emotions—conflict, urgency, and perhaps even hope. The colors, the elements, and the composition all work together to tell a story, one that I hope resonates with the viewer, one that asks the question: how do we put these pieces back together?
